With our clients residing from two worlds, two visions for the space was inevitable. Roots in Brazil, music, color, a raucous vibe, and Wisconsin, a laid-back country lifestyle. Our biggest challenge was capturing the energy of Brazil while still maintaining a serene space for our client’s master bathroom.

Compromising with muted tones, the vanity wall become the focus for the room. Like confetti from Carnival subtle energy was achieved with this WOW tile, Zellige from their Mestizaje collection. A request from the client for a handmade tile, Mestizaje is the appreciation to the imperfect and the natural. Embracing ancestral “Zellige” art and the antique terracotta charms. The variation in color and imperfect edges adds character to the space and brings in a sense of Brazilian style.

A family affair, the clients father provided the cabinets for the home. Manufactured in Wisconsin the 14’-7” the white oak vanity brings needed warmth to the room and is broken up with a combination of open shelving and drawers. Black hardware from Belwith Keeler, in combination with the black Eternity mirrors, and black Feiss Lighting wall sconces adds contrast to the surrounding soft tones. Keeping with our Brazilian inspiration and their eclectic sense of style, we chose to mix finishes, selecting a brushed nickel for all the plumbing fixtures. More economic tiles were chosen for both the bathroom floor and shower. Purchased from Floor and Décor, the veining in both selections again adds texture and a sense of intensity.
